Engineers India Ltd, South Asia's leading design and consultancy organization has bagged a contract for Engineering, Procurement, Construction Supervision and Project Management Services for the 2nd Phase Expansion of Bauxite Mines, Alumina Refinery and Aluminium Smelter from National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO) against international competition.
The expansion will result in enhancement of capacity from 4.8 MMTPA to 6.3 MMTPA for Bauxite Mines, from 1.575 MMTPA to 2.1 MMTPA Alumina Refinery by addition of 4th steam and from 0.345 Million TPA to 0.460 million TPA for Aluminium Smelter by addition of 4th pot line.
EIL had provided similar services for the original project as well as the 1st phase Expansion. The 2nd phase expansion Project is expected to be completed in stages by mid 2009.
