For EPCM role, EIL's project management services cover all the activities leading to the execution of a project by carrying out engineering, procurement and managing construction at site. The efforts of various agencies such as licensors, vendors, clients, contractors / sub contractors and EIL's different departments are brought together in a logical pattern to result in fruitful culmination of the project.
As Project Management Consultant, EIL provides management services required for smooth implementation of a complex project through LSTK contractors. It takes full responsibility for the overall co-ordination and integration of functioning of all agencies engaged in the implementation of the entire project and ensures the completion on schedule and within the budgeted cost.
Process Design & Engineering
EIL has developed a number of commercially successful process technologies in Petroleum Refining, Gas Processing & Petrochemicals alongwith operating companies & National Laboratories. EIL uses state-of-the-art process simulation software packages for developing process flowsheets and heat & material balance.
For design & graphic work, EIL uses AutoCAD, Auto Plant, PDS / PDMS & Intergraph environment. Design & engineering is carried out on distributed computing facilities connected in a Local Area Network. The strong base of EIL in process design and engineering has resulted in EIL offering basic engineering based on its own know-how, licensed know-how & catalyst information.
The process design package is converted into detailed engineering drawings and documents by specialists including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical & instrumentation engineers. Computer aided designs viz. 3-D techniques are extensively used as design aids to help develop optimum layout & design to ensure maximum construction, operational & maintenance convenience.
Computerised 3-D modeling of the plant is created for each project using the latest techniques internationally available such as PDS and PDMS. Detailed drawings and Bill of Materials are extracted automatically from the system, ensuring highest degree of accuracy and error-free drawings. Documents / drawings are transmitted electronically using the LAN environment for in-house use and Internet for external use.
EIL offers comprehensive procurement services including contracts & purchase, inspection, expediting & transportation with effective monitoring and expediting. It has developed expertise for effective global procurement through an extensive data bank having significant information on capable vendors and contractors all over the world. This has resulted in the purchasing of right goods and services at the lowest total cost on time anywhere in the world to meet the project requirements.
EIL provides total construction management services at site including selection of construction contractors, warehouse management, quality control/quality assurance, progress monitoring & scheduling. EIL takes total site responsibility from survey & soil investigation to mechanical completion & assistance in commissioning. Use of modern construction techniques, innovative construction procedures, emphasis on QA / QC and safety are some of the hallmarks which have helped EIL to reduce construction time of projects yet ensuring work of highest quality.
Commissioning and Plant Start-up
Process & engineering design documents are reviewed with respect to operability & safety. EIL prepares operating manuals for plants providing instructions for safe start-up, shutdown & handling various emergencies. It provides guidelines and supervises pre-commissioning & commissioning activities at site. Assistance is provided in conducting performance guarantee test runs and technical guidance for trouble shooting.
