India Energy Week 2026 Inaugurated at ATI ONGC Goa

Goa, January 27, 2026: India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, the 4th edition of India’s flagship global energy event, was inaugurated today at the Advanced Training Institute (ATI), ONGC, Goa. The event is being hosted at one of the most remarkable convention infrastructures developed in the country, reinforcing India’s rising stature on the global energy map.

In his inaugural address, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India underscored the strategic importance of India Energy Week, stating that IEW is not merely a conference, but a global platform where world leaders, policymakers, industry captains, and innovators come together to shape the future of energy. He emphasized India’s growing leadership role in driving the global energy transition through collaboration, innovation, and scale.

The Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) also highlighted the significance of the state-of-the-art infrastructure created for IEW 2026. He acknowledged the extraordinary efforts involved in developing these world-class facilities in record time, noting that the project stands as a strong symbol of India’s capability to plan and deliver global-scale energy infrastructure with speed and quality.

Engineers India Limited (EIL), a premier engineering consultancy organization, was entrusted with this challenging and time-bound assignment. Working within an exceptionally compressed timeline of just nine months, EIL successfully delivered the integrated convention infrastructure, setting a new benchmark in project execution excellence for international events.

The facilities developed by EIL for IEW 2026 include:

  • Convention Centre – “Prithvi”
  • Management Development Facility – “Aakash”
  • Exhibition Hall – “Vayu”
  • Utility Building and supporting infrastructure

Together, these facilities provide a modern, efficient, and globally comparable platform capable of hosting high-level international engagements at scale.

CMD EIL Ms Vartika Shukla highlighted that the successful delivery of this project reflects EIL’s deep commitment to world-class engineering and project management excellence. She stated that EIL continues to strengthen its position as one of the most trusted and capable consultancy organizations, delivering complex infrastructure with precision, speed, and value.

CMD further emphasized that EIL’s work at IEW 2026 aligns strongly with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Local to Global”, demonstrating how Indian engineering expertise is expanding its horizons and setting new standards, not only for domestic projects but also for global benchmarks.

The successful execution of the IEW 2026 infrastructure stands as a powerful testament to India’s engineering capability, institutional collaboration, and readiness to host and lead global conversations on the future of energy.

EIL to Expand Africa Biggest Dangote Refinery

With diversified interests spanning upstream oil & gas, mining, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement, sugar, and food; the Group is one of the region’s largest employers and operates across 17 African countries. Its flagship 650,000 barrels-per-day Integrated Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in the Lekki Free Zone is the world’s largest single- train refinery, producing Euro-V quality gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and polypropylene.

EIL partnered with the Dangote Group as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) and EPCM Consultant for the iconic 650,000 barrels-per-day Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Complex, commissioned in 2024. This landmark facility is widely recognized as a transformative asset for Africa’s energy landscape, standing as a testament to EIL’s engineering brilliance and execution leadership. The project has reshaped Africa’s energy architecture and elevated the region as a major hub for world-class hydrocarbon assets across the entire value chain.

Major Capacity Expansion

Dangote plans to expand its refining capacity from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day (Train 2) producing Euro VI grade fuels, as well as expanding Polypropylene production from 830 kTPA to 2.4 MMTPA Polypropylene by revamping existing Polypropylene Unit (PPU) and installing additional PPU of 1.2 MMTPA, plus a world scale 750 kTPA UOP’s Oleflex Unit to supplement Propylene feed to PPU. The latest expansion further reinforces Nigeria’s mission to become a regional hub for refined petroleum products and petrochemicals.

Believing in EIL’s Engineering and Project Management excellence, Dangote Group has once again join hands with EIL in this endeavor and has signed a Contract Agreement of value more than US $ 350 Million to engage EIL as PMC and EPCM Consultant for this Project. Once completed, this expansion will position Dangote as the world’s largest petroleum refinery, strengthening fuel production within Africa, reducing reliance on imports, and supporting regional energy security.

This Contract is a strong affirmation of the trust reposed in EIL’s capabilities to deliver projects of exceptional scale and complexity. As we move into this next phase, EIL will bring its decades of experience, multidisciplinary strengths, and global execution model to support Dangote in creating one of the world’s most advanced and fully integrated energy complexes. The proposed expansion to 1.4 million barrels per day is a project of global significance and will stand among the largest refinery complexes at a single location.

New Delhi, January 17, 2026: Engineers India Limited (EIL) achieved the most remarkable milestone with pullback of the Brahmaputra HDD crossing of 4,058 meters—the LONGEST ever Horizontal Directional Drilling(HDD) crossing in the WORLD of 26” pipeline diameter.

This historic accomplishment surpasses EIL’s own earlier record of 4,027 meters at the Ganga River, achieved under the same project, reaffirming EIL’s engineering excellence, innovation, and execution capability in the most challenging terrains.

The Paradip–Numaligarh Crude Oil Pipeline (PNCPL)—a 1,635 km strategic energy corridor being developed for NRL—will transport imported crude from Paradip Port to Assam, traversing Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and the Northeast. This critical infrastructure will strengthen India’s energy security, support refinery expansion, and drive significant regional economic growth and employment.

This is a proud moment for EIL in delivering excellence for a project of national importance. The successful execution of this complex pipeline infrastructure marks a major step toward the development of the North East and the nation at large. New Delhi, January 4, 2026: The successful commissioning of the Residue Upgradation Facility (RUF) at HPCL’s Visakh Refinery, featuring the world’s first and largest LC-Max unit, marks a major milestone in India’s refining journey. Engineers India Limited (EIL), as Project Management Consultant (PMC), provided comprehensive PMC services for this landmark facility, which sets a global benchmark in scale, technological complexity, and execution excellence.

The 3.55 MMTPA Residue Upgradation Facility, implemented as part of the Visakh Refinery Modernization Project (VRMP), ranks among the most complex and technologically advanced residue processing facilities commissioned worldwide. EIL delivered end-to-end project management and engineering services across the entire project lifecycle, while Larsen & Toubro (L&T) executed the project as the EPC contractor.

The facility deploys LC-Max technology, a world-first at this scale, enabling an exceptional 93% conversion of bottom-of-the-barrel residues into high-value distillates. This significantly enhances refinery margins, improves refining complexity, and maximizes value extraction from every barrel of crude—aligned with India’s growing energy demand.

The successful commissioning of the facility reflects seamless collaboration among HPCL, EIL, L&T, licensors, vendors, and project teams, who collectively navigated unprecedented technological, logistical, and execution challenges to deliver a project to global standards.

For EIL, the commissioning of the LC-Max-based RUF adds another “First” to its six-decade legacy of delivering complex, mission-critical energy infrastructure for the nation. The project further reinforces EIL’s position as a world-class consultancy, capable of managing frontier technologies and mega-scale projects with precision and reliability.
